This long-awaited game has fans on the edge of their seats just waiting for more details about the game. Developers have been drip-feeding information. Most excitingly, a 14-minute gameplay video which was dropped in March, giving fans an insight into character creation, classes and exploration.

While this game won’t feature any online multiplayer worlds it is still important to have a good connection. Open world RPG games with great graphics are clearly going to have massive file sizes. With a GigaFast Pro connection, you definitely won’t be waiting days to play.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Set to be released in late 2022, the Nintendo switch game is described as an open-world adventure. This release by Pokémon is a follow-on from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which was also released in January this year (Nintendo are spoiling us!)

Keep an eye out on the Xbox Series S and steam for this 4-player co-op that combines adrenaline-inducing combat with a high skill-ceiling meaning you can master your craft and stand out from other players.

Are you giga-fit for these incredible upcoming gaming releases?

With new-gen consoles recently released from both PlayStation and Xbox (if you can get your hands on one that is), the digital gaming marketplace is about to get a complete revamp with tons of new, exciting and technologically advanced games coming to our screens in 2021/22.

COVID unfortunately delayed the release of some of the titles we at Gigabit Networks were looking forward to plugging into – but here’s a couple of the games recently announced that we think you should be keeping an eye out for.

FAR CRY 6

The release of Far Cry 6 is long-awaited – and one of the titles which unfortunately had its release date delayed due to staffing issues at Ubisoft during the COVID pandemic.

The story follows the traditional Far Cry blueprint – this time taking place in the Caribbean on the fictional island of Yara ruled by facist dictator Antón Catillo (played by Giancarlo Esposito) and his son & prodigy Diego, who is unsure of his future. Users play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran guerilla fighter who plans to restore the island to its former glory.

One of the best features of Far Cry is it’s open-world aspect and we’re looking forward to seeing what the team have created for the new map, which promises to be ‘the largest Far Cry map to date’. We’re also super excited to see what Esposito does with the role of ‘El Presidente’ Antón Castillo – who proved his bad-guy status time and time again with his characters Gus in Breaking Bad, and Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian.

And Far Cry have once again outdone themselves with their cute (but deadly) sidekicks available to your character throughout the game – one word, Chorizo! Fight crime with the most adorable (and courageous!) little sidekick we’ve ever seen in the franchise.

BACK 4 BLOOD

A new, independent spin-off to the infamous Left4Dead franchise – this brand-new zombie shooter from Turtle Rock Studios is sure to be a hit, boasting a campaign available for up to 4 players via online co-op and a brand new PVP mode, similarly to its predecessor.

The Back4Blood website boasts ‘extreme replayability’ in its new story – quoting the following:

“A new rogue-lite Card System creates different experiences with each playthrough. You can jump right into the action by choosing a pre-made deck or dive into Back 4 Blood’s vast customisation and make your own. The choice is yours”

BACK4BLOOD

Play the Back4Blood story solo, or online with up to 3 friends co-op – and then jump into the exciting new 4v4 PVP online mode, where players can take on the role of a ‘Cleaner’ (survivors) or ‘Ridden’ (the infected):

“Switch between playing as a Cleaner or Ridden. As a Cleaner, you bring the fight to enemy Ridden and aim to survive for as long as you can. As the Ridden, employ unique abilities to destroy your opponents as quickly as possible.”

BACK4BLOOD

Fans of the original Left4Dead series will be excited to learn that Back4Blood is coming to Xbox Games Pass members for FREE, to all Games Pass subscription tiers. Back4Blood will also be available to purchase on all major digital game stores on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. Coming 12th October 2021.

A PLAGUE TALE: REQUIEM

A lesser-known – but equally spotlight deserving – title, the release of A Plague Tale: Innocence was a visually beautiful, narrative-driven game of horror, stealth & strategy. Set in France and following the adventures of Amicia and her young brother Hugo, we saw the siblings battle both the peril of the French Inquisition along with swarms of deadly rats responsible for spreading the black plague.

The stories of the duo and their friends that we encountered in ‘Innocence’ have got us very excited to see what Asobo Studio & Focus Home Interactive do with the franchise next.

Not much has been revealed about the plot of ‘Requiem’ so far. All we really know is that the story once again follows Amicia and Hugo, and picks up right from where the story left off in Innocence.

Asobo Studios (developers of ‘Requiem’) have teased audiences with the following quote:

“Embark on an emotional and breathtaking journey in the sequel to the award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence. Follow Amicia and her brother Hugo, as they do whatever it takes to survive a brutal, uncaring world.”

ASOBO STUDIO

We can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

This game will be released in 2022 (date not yet confirmed) and will also be available to Xbox Games Pass members for free, as well as for purchase on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and in Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch.

And as always – Gigabit Networks have your back and can equip you with next-generation PureFibre digital infrastructure to get stuck into the latest gaming releases.

Don’t be interrupted by peak internet usage hours, unreliable copper cables or your annoying housemates hogging all the bandwidth – and instead get Gigabit-capable, fibre-to-the-home internet with speeds up to 1Gbps (1,000Mbps).

Launching this fall in Derby & Coventry.
